Hal Michael Goldblatt of Las Vegas, Nevada, received the honor of being selected to appear in the 53rd edition of Who?s Who in America because of outstanding achievements in both his professional and personal life. He exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit that has been the backbone of America. The original of all ?Who?s Who? publications, it has been closed to new biographies for over 20 years. With the approach of the new millennium, the Board of Trustees of Marquis Publishing decided to open this edition to a select few. Hal Goldblatt moved to Las Vegas with his wife and children in the summer of 1992 from Long Beach, California. He graduated with honors from California State University at Long Beach in January of 1975, where he majored in mathematics and minored in graphic arts. He has worked in the field of accounting since graduation. Mr. Goldblatt has since received an Executive Masters of Business Administration.
On a professional level, Mr. Goldblatt owns and operates an independent accounting service for commercial projects in the southern Nevada area. He also serves on the boards of directors of two corporations as treasurer. He has been recognized by the Timberline User Group as one of the top users of this software for his knowledge of the product, custom reports and training abilities.
In Southern California, the Goldblatts co-founded Jews for Judaism, a non-profit religious organization to counter Christian missionaries' intent on converting people of the Jewish faith. The Goldblatts ran the organization for many years, building it to international success and then relinquished it to Rabbi Bentzion Kravitz who continues to run the organization today.
As a freelance photographer, Hal Goldblatt?s photographs have been published in hundreds of newspapers, magazines, specialty pamphlets and five books around the world. Mr. Goldblatt also formed a small publishing company through which he produced and engineered three music albums. His company also produced, and he directed, two short documentary films. His photos have been displayed in a traveling photographic exhibit at various branches of the Clark County Library District for close to two years.
Hal and his wife Shawn Goldblatt were major contributors to the Long Beach Civic Light Opera for over 25 years. They took an active roll in helping the Long Beach Civic Light Opera theatre to grow from a small community group to a nationally recognized leader in theatre. In Nevada, they have served on the board of directors for the Actors Repertory Theatre, the only Equity Actors troupe in Southern Nevada at that time. Currently the Goldblatts are active with the Smith Center for the Performing Arts.
Mr. Goldblatt volunteers as a leader for a national mental health organization, and has served as the district leader in the past. He lead a weekly self-help group for the organization for 30 years. He also serves as a lay leader for his synagogue, Chabad of Southern Nevada. He has guest lectured in economics and on religious topics. His hobbies include chess, sailing and collecting Disney memorabilia. Hal and his wife Shawn are founding members of the National Fantasy Fan Club for Disney collectors. Mr. Goldblatt has been recognized with many awards for his academic and community service. The City of Las Vegas awarded him the distinction of "Citizen of the Month" in November 2017 and Jewish Nevada awarded him with their "Mensch of the Year" for 2019.
