Survey re battery cages - please tell them your thoughts
The community has spoken, but the egg industry doesn’t seem to like the answer. So they need a reminder from you...
Can you spare 15 minutes to complete the survey?
Aussies have told the egg industry that they are concerned about the welfare of battery-caged hens. An overwhelming 80% want to see an end to these terrible cages. I know you’re one of them.
But that’s an inconvenient truth for the egg industry, so they're asking again what you think. Will you tell them?
I’m certain that the egg industry has been shaken by the overwhelming support to end cages. But they seem to be hoping that if they ask the question enough times they'll get an answer they're happy with. So it’s crucial that they hear what you think of cages.

It's time for the community to speak once more.

Foster carer needed
Foster carer needed possibly with his mum Izzy below
TC is looking for a new foster home or permanent home perhaps with with his mum Izzy or another cat as a playmate.
Foster carer needed
Izzy is a tiny little short-haired dark tortoiseshell with big green eyes and a fiery orange stripe down her nose. She is a delicate and softly spoken little thing who enjoys being with people. While she can be a little timid with new people she quickly warms up to everyone and loves a good pat, cuddle and ear scratch.
His current carer says - Domino is an incredibly affectionate and placid cat. He adores company and likes to be cuddled and stroked. He has a gorgeous soft, long and fluffy coat and appreciates a brush once a week. He has the calmest temperament of any cat that I have met and likes to follow you everywhere you go. At bed time he walks himself to his bedroom and waits anxiously to be tucked in and kissed good night. He is best suited for a family who is happy to pay him attention and in return will be by your side and be a beautiful companion.
Domino seems to have the traits of a Turkish Van, as you can see from this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_Van .
I am looking for a special Foster Carer who can understand my needs, I would love to be in your home and share some love.
Would you like to sponsor me?

Melody was in boarding for well over a year. Melody is currently out of boarding but needs to move to an experienced carer where she can be the only pet. and who can give her one on one attention. Below is her story
Dec 2014- Hello, my name's MELODY. I'm a special needs pussy cat, and I've been in long term emergency boarding for such a long time, patiently waiting for my turn to have a foster family, or forever home. I only have one wish for Christmas...someone to give me a chance to be their foster pet, even if only for a while. I would love to be part of family. My family, SPRA love me and they worry about me being in boarding so long. Can you help me?
This is my story....I'm a pretty blue and white girl born approx 2007. Sydney Pet Rescue and Adoption took me into foster care when my family planned to take me to the pound, when they were moving to the US.
SPRA took me in because they knew that being a special needs pussy cat, I would have been put to sleep at the pound straight away. Lots of people don't realize, but pets surrendered to the pound by their owners can be put to sleep straight away. Hard to believe..but that's what happens. Anyway..I was one of the lucky ones. At the time my family surrendered me, I was very overweight and a sad pussy cat. Sydney Pet Rescue thinks that I was likely a cruelty case. It took a long time, with kindness and patience from my foster carers, to help me learn to trust people, and for me to get down to my ideal weight, but I did!
We learned that I am one of those pussy cats that prefers to be an only cat, though I might be ok with one other laid back pussy cat. We also learned that the sort of home or foster home that I do best in is a quiet patient caring home, without children or other pets, though one other laid back pussycat might be ok too. Because of my special needs, it's been so hard for me to find just the right foster home or forever home. I did really well with my last foster carer, and I showed that I have a sweet affectionate side. I used to love to sit beside my last foster carer on the sofa or especially to roll about on my lambswool and to play with my mouse. I was happy and my confidence really grew when I was with her.
I had to go into emergency boarding at Puss n Boots more than a year ago when she couldn't look after me anymore. Puss n Boots have taken excellent care of me, but I've been waiting such a long time for my turn to have a foster carer or forever home. I just know there's a foster home or forever home for me...somewhere. If you are an experienced cat carer and have room in your heart, and your life for a little girl like me, even if only for a while, please contact my family, Sydney Pet Rescue & Adoption on 1300 455 390 for more information Thank you for reading my story. Love from Melody x
PS. I come with a hamper of Goodies and good support from my family SPRA.
PPS. Even if you can't take me, if you could take one of SPRA's other foster cats, that might free up a space with an experienced foster carer for me. I'll keep my paws crossed. :)

As a result, the ACNC has introduced a charity verification ‘tick’ which shows that an organisation is “transparent and accountable by highlighting their presence on the ACNC Charity Register”.
It is hoped the charity tick will have a positive effect on public trust and confidence in the charity sector, with donors being able to instantly recognise a charity that is well governed, reputable and worthy of public donations registered. Sydney Pet Rescue & Adoption Inc.is proud to warrant and display the ‘tick’!
