In my opinion only, the top 7 UK beaches and why in an easy-to-read chart!

Studland,        Dorset
 Sandy, dunes
 Ice cream van; toilets, shop and cafe at main NT car park. 150 Bus (Bournemouth-Swanage) stops at start of footpath, FRP6 .  (see main page) on Ferry Road.
Free  on Ferry Road. NT car parks - not cheap but free for NT members.
 A mile at least; path from Ferry Road  (FRP6) is a bit stoney in places; the walk from either end is sand.
Birling Gap, Sussex
 Stones, Shingle and chalk cliffs 
Cafe, toilets, car park, post box and pay-phone!   National Trust.
 Pay parking,  £2.50 for 4 hours refunded if you spend £10 in the cafe.  Free for NT members 
  Half mile down staircase by car park. 
 Big pebbles, chalk bits and some sand.
Calshot, Hampshire
 Compact shingle backed by trees
 Cafe, toilets nearby, bus to/from Southampton (Number 8), space for camper vans on the spit (left from the car park towards castle)
 Pay parking  £3 for 4 hours or free ln the one-way system
  Half mile along sand and shingle.
Burton Bradstock, Devon

Everything! Toilets, cafe, restaurant, parking. National Trust,
£1 an hour or free to NT members
 About half mile
 Morfa Dyffryn, Wales 
 Sandy, dunes
 Cafe and toilets at car park. Don't know if naturist camping is still nearby (Glyn's Field).
£5 a day in 2015, the latest I can find..
  Over a mile, all sand.
 Winterton-on-sea, Norfolk, UK
 Sand, dunes
 Cafe and toilets at car park. Plenty of room. Please respect nesting areas.
 £1,50 an hour, £5 for 4 or more.
I'd say a mile easy walk
 Strete  Gate, Devon
 Fine shingle, some stones and slate
 Car park, toilets, cafe all close by. Easy to get to! The best, in my view.
 £1 an hour by coin or mobile 'phone (a pain so take coins!)
 200 yards from car park and toilets, 300 to café
