*sigh* It's official; the Sailor Moon anime reboot has been postponed AGAIN until July '14.
So, to kind of distract from that I've got new designs for the inner and outer senshi brooches. They are now flat yet still retain a slight dome, rounding out at about 2 3/4 inches in diameter. They are still translucent but now are much much lighter in weight.
I've also re-designed the tiaras. They are still flexible and light weight.

Can winter get here faster? I don't know about the rest of you but I can wait to see the new anime for Sailor Moon! And it's been so exciting to see new merchandise being released from Japan these past few months! What a great time for the fandom!
On a different note we'll not close down this year until August and them again in October. Please remember to place your Halloween orders before the end of September so that we can be sure you receive them well before you need them.
New Luna and Artemis pillows have been added! You can find them in Sailor Moon 6. Diana will be coming soon!
Harry Potter scarves and more have been added to our Misc section. And, finally, a little something for all of you Princess Leia fans out there......sparkly "hair bunn" earmuffs! Perfect for daily wear and subtly showing off your fandom!

IMPORTANT!!! This year I'm going to close down shop for a month at a time, a couple times this year. Right now it looks like Southern Moon Creations will close during April, July and October. Please note that if you placed an order before my shop closes you will still get your orders.
Why am I doing this? One major reason is that I love my kiddos and think that they occasionally like to get to play with mommy. Another reason is this; it's getting too big. I've been at this for about six year and with each new year the percentage of orders per month grows. I used to be able to count of January and February being down time months where I'd be able to experiment and come up with news items. Now those months are so busy that there is no down time, which is realyl sad because those were my only two vacation months out of the year.
I greatly enjoy making cosplay accessories and helping people to better complete their outfits and I'm truly, truly thankful for all the business I've received. I never, in my wildest imagination, thought that I'd get to do this and be able to be a part of so many things. I even, unknowingly, had my work seen by my favorite mangaka, Naoko Takeuchi, which just about reduced me to a geek puddle on the floor beneath my chair.
But it's still just me who works on all the orders. And at very limited times. I never know when one of my kiddos is going to get sick, or when it's going to be me who gets sick or if this is going to be a month where the damn plaster doesn't want to set right. If this year continues to follow the trend that I've seen over the past six years then I find myself very worried about what will happen if any of that happens during a high demand month? And what if it gets to be so much that I burn myself out and no longer want to make accessories any more?
So the answer seems to be to shut down for a month at a time, a few times this year. I tried this for October last year and it went beautifully. My goal is to close a month before the big convention/holiday events, giving me enough time to get the order out for those who made sure to order ahead of time. This also cuts down on my much correspondence I have to have with those who didn't and won't accept my refusal to make their orders.
If there is an event you have that you'd like to have accessories for pleas try to order as early as possible. I do not accept bribes. I will not commit to need by dates that I've been informed of after an order is placed.
Thanks to all for your patience!

Thank you to all who beared with me through the month of January. There was a passing in my family and the condolences were appreciated.
We've finally hit with our seasonal allergies in the area and my oldest son is getting it the worst. He spent one week ill, was better for three day and then has been sick again all this week. I am managing to get some work done on orders but it's hard to get to a post office when you can't take an infectcious child out into the public. Thank you to all who have been patient. Your orders are coming very soon.
This year I think we're going to take three months off, a month at a time, and throughout the year. Closing down for October really helped me be able to concentrate on getting through all the orders and even gave me time to *gasp* play with my children. All joking aside, one of the biggest detractors of time spent working on orders is dealing with correspondence. During heavy order season it can really slow down production to tell people that I cannot make a large order for them and have it shipped and received within a week. Right now I'm looking at a month to get a person's order shipped due to what has become the standard order load (which is a lot). Sometimes I can get things out much sooner but if one in my family gets sick then noty much can get done untilt hey are better.
So thank you, again, to everyne who has been so very understanding!
Tentatively, the months I'm looking at to be closed during is April, June and October. As usual I highly advise ordering as early as you can.

Hello all! Finally, I'm almost done with being sick. Most orders are caught up and have been shipped and I'm right back on schedule.
Just a few reminders. For those ordering chokers - make sure to provide a neck measurement when placing an order. For those who are ordering senshi broaches or henshin wands please make sure to specify the color of what you want. And, last but not least , if the paypal address you are using to pay for your order is different than the address you have used to communicate with me please alert me. It can take a lot of time to hunt down and connect up addresses to the person who placed the order when this happens.
Also, with christmas arriving, I will not promise any arrival dates. I will work as fast as I can to get orders out but, as always, it is a large volume of orders I work with. Until my kids learn to do proper slave labor on orders this is the speed that I can work at.
When I shipped packages yesterday the post office clersk informed me that shipping times will not be guaranteed this year. Meaning if you pay to ship priority the post office cannot guarantee that it will arrive in the four to five day estimate they typically offer. And today it was announced that, since they had to lay off many workers and condense down offices, all shipping times will take longer. The reason for doing this is to help stave off possible bankruptcy. So please keep this in mind when waiting for your order to arrive.
No, I will not ship any other method that USPS. For where I live we don't have any other option than USPS and it is the most conveint option currently available to me.
Thanks to everyone for your patience while I was recovering!

These past three weeks I've be sick with, first, a severe cold, then a severe case of strep and now am topping it off with a kidney infection that I'm seriously hoping does not also become severe. Production times are slowed down and while I'm going to get a large portion of orders shipped today I expect I will not be able to produce as much in the next week.
Everyone, thank you for your patience and well wishes.
