IBISR Program

The International Bible Institute of Siem Reap, in affiliation with the Bear Valley Institute of Denver, Colorado, USA, offers a certificate in Biblical Studies upon completion of three intensive years in God's word.

 

Costs 

There are no tuition fees for the three-year program of the school. Feeding and accommodation are also provided free of cost to the students. The affiliate Institution, along with the elders of Bear Valley church of Christ and many other, financially support the operation of the school. People and churches throughout the brotherhood provide support for students to attend. No student will be allowed foreign personal support without prior permission of the school.

Entrance requirements

  1. All candidates for Certificate in Biblical Studies must have high school completion certificate or equivalent and must present the school with his application an official copy of such certificate.
  2. In certain circumstances provisional or probationary acceptance may be granted in the absence of high school completion. In such cases the student must maintain a minimum of "C" level and the high school completion must be completed in a reasonable time.
  3. Be of good Christian character and recommended by a preacher, church, or church leader
  4. Pass all entrance exams and interviews.
  5. Having completed the above requirements an admission letter will be issued to the candidate.

Registration Requirements

  1. Acceptance of offer of admission;
  2. Presentation of original copies of credentials;
  3. Birth certificates or statutory declaration of age;
  4. Reference letter from two persons of good repute;
  5. Signed copies of rules and regulations.

Personal Effects

Each student should provide his/her own toiletries, e.g. towels, soap, shaving equipment, clothing, shoe polish, toothbrush and toothpaste, clothes hangers. Each student should obtain one Bible.

Dress Code

Proper dress for classes and chapel is formal (i.e. shirt, and trousers, tie is optional, shoes or sandals). No t-shirts or shorts will be allowed. Shoes must be worn. Female students should wear dress or skirt that covers the knee, or dress trousers outfit. No jeans will be allowed. Dress during non-class times should be appropriate for a Christian example to others. No t-shirts advertising unfit products (e.g. Playboy emblems or beer/cigarette products) or events are allowed to be worn.

Devotionals and Chapel

Devotional periods will be held at 7:00-7:15 am each morning. Attendance is mandatory for all students living in the dorms. An example of the program might be to sing one song, offer prayer and a short 5-10 minute lesson.

Chapel is mandatory for all students and staff. The chapel session will be held at 8:00 am each weekday of the School term. The program should not be longer than 15 minutes and shall consist of a song and prayer, then a short lesson of no more than 10 minutes.

Dormitory Students

Each student is expected to rise from bed by 5:30 am daily, bathe and be ready for  English class at 6:00 am and devotional at 7:00 am. Breakfast will be served by 7:30 for all students. Anyone who is late may not be served. All students are expected to be in the School parameters by 9:00 pm nightly. Lights will be turned off by 10:00 pm; everyone should respect the rights and privacy of others.
