'' One who smiles rather than rages is always the stronger''
Chojiro Tani (1921-1998) & Kenwa Mabuni (1889-1952)
Photo taken in 1948 . . . (Ages: Tani 27 and Mabuni 59)
Pictured here, are two great teachers of Karate. Both these men were Masters (10th Dans, Soke) in their own style. The late Chojiro Tani founded Shukokai in 1946 and his Instructor Kenwa Mabuni was the founder of the original style of Shito Ryu in 1931. However, both men had previously been training and teaching Karate for around 30 years !
Master Tani started in Karate aged 19 and Master Mabuni at the age of 13 - so their lifetime involvement in Martial Arts was around 60 years and 50 years respectively.
