OMG!... This brings back memories, except we didn't have those fluorescent lights in 1953, or the fancy blankets in our 'old style' billets...
The floor looks nicely buffed!

The boots were relegated to the locker tops. Previously on the floor at the foot of the bed.

We had part of our last year in these blocks having moved from the wooden billets opposite 1 T block pure luxury.

I remember the billets very well, those center passages were bulled all night on a Friday, in sprog block, with a bloody great thing called a bumper. We took turns in surrendering a strip of blanket that was put under the bumper for the final few hours polishing. I made the mistake of going missing one "full bull" night for too long at the NAAFI, I came back to an 8" blanket laid over my bed.

Goes to show we could sleep on anything when we were younger.
How those 3 piece beds could fly during 'raids'

How atmospheric can you get? Bulled lino and bedpacks and all! Where are all the boots?
