Aaaah! Green Satin! You'd have been shot at dawn for repeating that name back in the day! Vulcans on 13 Sqn? Or is my old memory going awol?

If he isn't listed as a member in here, I cannot be of much help to you, but, a certain skill in `surfing the net' can find the most unexpected results. So, with that, don't just look here, look everywhere on the internet. The only pitfall is, that does he use the internet too?
Pertinent to finding someone on the net is:-
a good idea of where they're living NOW,
where they were demobbed' and where they moved from there,
where their home address was when they were `in',
who they were/are married too, (family surnames?),
Did he have a middle name(s), initials?
All of these could supply important info, an account with 192.com might help too. There's over thirty Kenneth Hawkes, with middle names on 192.com Good luck and good hunting.

Dear Martin. I Am trying to locate a Kenneth Hawkes who worked on green satin radar 13 Sqn at Akrotiri in 1963. He had a serious Road Traffic Accident in Limassol 12/I/1965. Was cas-evac'ed back to UK, and later was discharged from the RAF on medical grounds. Some years ago he was trying to locate the person who donated blood at Akrotiri hospital which as I understand saved his life. I believe I may be that person. I live near Watfprd Herts tel 01923 331975

It is interesting to see the photos of personnel at Locking from long ago. The striking thing is that there seemed to be no overweight people. Perhaps the RAF did not recruit anyone overweight. I can recall only one guy at Bridgnorth in 1955 who might be described as slightly overweight. I guess we were all of an age that had experienced war time rationing & junk food had not appeared on the scene. Of course we were also lucky to eat in the wonderful RAF messes & the superb food to be enjoyed there.
