The Powers of Matthew Star

1980's Science Fiction Television at its Finest . . . .

Updates for The Powers of Matthew Star Site:

(3/13/12) Uploaded Photo Gallery with a dozen beautiful color photos of Peter Barton and Amy Steel.

(7/18/11) I'm moving stuff around so I am down to one or two sites (I have five webs.con sites strung together into one "site"; it's just not obvious to the viewer) so I can keep better track of everything.

(3/31/11)  I feel fortunate that the episodes I uploaded to You Tube are still there, as I know other shows have been pulled.  Ironic, because I think You Tube (and similar sites) remind us how great these shows are/were and causes us to want to purchase DVD's of the show . . .  Please production companies, give us the one measily season of Matthew Star and we'll stop making homemade tapes and DVD's; we promise!

(11/3/10) Life is pretty tumultuous right now and I haven't been able to work on the site.  I appreciate your patience!

(3/10/10) I haven't been able to work on this site for several months because of various family crises which steal all my waking hours.  I promise to get back to this as soon as I can!

(8/1/09)  I've noticed that letters/fonts in some of the stories have changed (maybe by some update to the general  - website system), so I'm hoping to go back and check each story, correcting the incorrect stuff.  Thanks for your patience!

(10/27/08) - Uploaded revised versions of earlier stories.  Less typos.

(6/19/08) - New Story in Fan Fiction 2008 entitled, "Role Reversal."

Peter Barton and Louis Gossett, Jr. (Scene from the Episode "Mother")

Louis Gossett, Jr.'s Dialogue Over Theme

"Quadris, twelve light years across the galaxy from Earth. It was home for us until an intergalactic armada conquered it. I fought by the royal family's side, but in vain. Even their remarkable powers weren't enough. The Crown Prince and I escaped to the nearest planet on which we could survive and further his powers in order to some day return to free his people.

"Here on Earth, the prince is known as Matthew Star. He's a typical American teenager. He has friends; people who love him. And me, his guardian. I'm the only one who knows how special he is. Life for us is a series of joys and dangers. Enemy assassins constantly come to destroy us. Alone, we must survive."

The series (Pilot and 21 episodes) aired on NBC from September 1982 - April 1983
