Well jammers, what can we say? Palstock '15 is just around the corner. This will be the 15th year for our 'lil annual get-to-gether in the farm country of Eastern Indiana. This year's event will be held on the weekend of June 26th.-28th. (The weekend following Father's Day). As in previous years, jammers will probably start showing up on Thursday afternoon (the 25th.), and the last of the die-hards will leave on Monday (the 29th.). For those of you "new" to the Palstock Jam, our hosts are: Gary, Cindi, Sara, Ben. This will be the 15th. fantastic year for the annual weekend of great friends, great crowd, great family, great memories...and oh yeah...great music!
Once again our hosts have opened up their front "yard" (it's more like a football field), for jammers to camp at. There is plenty of room for your tents, pop-up campers, tag-a-longs, or RV's here. There are several Porta-Potties on site, and plenty of covered area near the stage to enjoy the event. We ask that if you plan on having a campfire at your site, please bring some kind of portable fireplace/fire pit device to hold your fire off the grass. Even though most of your time will probably be spent away from your camp site, we suggest bringing some kind of canopy device for your site for shade and/or a rain event. (We have had some major rain storms blow through almost once every year.) One small warning for all the musicians, there is not a "real" music shop in the local area, so be sure to pack extra strings & things.
This Pic is a few years old and doesn't show the new Garage/Stage Gary built for the 13th year, it's huge, and located right about where you see the blue tent (left side of the driveway, above the white car). This gives you an idea of just how big that yard really is.
There are several Local Motels in/around Portland, IN.
1620 N. Meridian St., Portland, IN.
The rooms here are nice, clean, and relativly inexpensive. All room doors open to the outside, facing the parking lot. Seems like the same people that run the Motel have been here every year, and it seems like most of the jammer's that motel it, stay here.
Portland Inn (formally the Super 8)
1147 N. US Highway 27, Portland, IN.
Typical Chain Motel, nice rooms, clean, and a few dollars per night more than the Hoosier Inn. Room doors open to a center hallway inside the building.
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites
100 Holiday Drive
Portland, IN 47371
or the Front Desk 1-260-726-6688
Typical chain motel, the newest in town, and the most expensive.
1411 N. US Highway 27, Portland, IN.
This is the oldest motel in town, run down a bit, but the cheapest in town, and the rooms inside are clean.
The 2 closest major airports are:
Indianapolis International Airport and Dayton International Airport they are both about a 2 hour drive from the Jam site.
