It's All About the Blues in April

March, 2014 - Spin D'Arte Exhibit

Welcome to the magical world of Spinning! It's unique and provides the ultimate freedom in painting.  To spin, the artist must feel and paint from the inner self, from emotion and passion -- and must paint freely without a preconceived idea. It's expressionism...but with a completely new "spin" to it.   Join us for the opening wine and cheese reception on Friday, March 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. and view our Gallery-wide March exhibition on spinning presented by the Spin D'Arte Group from the Dunedin Fine Arts Center.  Headed by renowned artist Robert Sutherland, the group will demonstrate that evening how the art of spinning is accomplished and the techniques involved.  Spinning can result in creating from one to four separate paintings on one canvas!  See if you can find the images.
Also on display in March is a wonderful photography exhibit by students from the Pasco eSchool, Pasco County's virtual classroom. Both exhibitions will continue through Saturday, March 29.  Gallery hours are Wed. through Saturday, from Noon until 6 p.m.

And, if you are a poet, be SURE to submit your entry for the Gallery's 7th Annual Poetry Competition going on right now.  Anyone may enter. All submissions must be in to the Gallery by Saturday, April 5. Poems will be judged by a panel of professional judges and will be announced at the end of April, which is National Poetry Month. Cash awards will be presented to winning poets on Saturday, April 26 at our Awards Reception. Check out our Poet's Point and Poetry Competition Entry Form pages on the website for more details.
