Another of our historical society's goals is to preserve significant buildings from our county's past. Since the 1980's, our members have restored the 1853 Stipe Log House, the 1866 Cozad Cabin, the 1870's Pittsburg Country School, and the 1884 Nims Barn.

The 1884 Nims Barn contains an exhibit on area agricultural history, and we now have added in the barn a team of fiberglass horses, a calf, a pig and fiberglass milking cow that the kids can milk. Our other restored buildings have period interiors.
