May 1, 1927 Karl Jaspers writes Heidegger that he had the book
in hand. Most of this was written at 21 Schwanallee in Marburg or
at the farm house of Johann Brender near Heidegger's Die Hütte
above Todtnauberg, Black Forest, Germany.

In the copy of Sein und Zeit giving by Martin Heidegger to Edmund
Husserl (on his 68th birthday, April 8, 1927), he wrote a quote from
Gotthold Ephraim Lessing (1729-1781):
"For the me the greatest clarity was always the greatest beauty."
"Die grösste Deutlichkeit was mir immer die grösste Schönheit."

Thomas Sheehan notes that between the sixth and seventh edition
(1949-1953) there were 480 changes were made to the text. Plus, hundreds
have been made since then. In addition, more recent editions have
included Heidegger's own marginalia.
