Hi Alan and welcome. I did think about putting record numbers on but, if I'm honest - I just never got round to it. If you want a really good read about Lonnie, I would highly recommend a book by Patrick Humphries "Lonnie Donegan and The Birth of British Rock and Roll". This is the best bool so far about him.

Nice to see a Lonnie discography on line. would it not help with accurate identification if record numbers were listed. My main interest is old operatic 78's and we alway quote record number and matrix number, it saves arguments.
I have some Lonnie 78's still, writing this makes me realise they are getting on for 60 years old, and a couple of PYE LP's GH514 and GH565. I got Spencer Leigh's "Puttin' on the style" for Xmas which explained a lot about Lonnie that I did not previously know or understand.
Power to your elbow
Happy New Year

Hi, I like your informative Lonnie Donegan website. Is there a Lonnie Donegan song and lyric book for guitar? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Leeroy

Hi Leroy,
Thanks for your kind words about the site. You often find sheet music for Lonnie's songs on EBay and sometimes song books that include a few numbers. There are some web sites out there as well, ie http://bettylou.zzruss.com/donegan.htm I don't know if it is any good as I am no musician myself.

Hi Len,
As far as I know, Lonnie never sang this song, but I could be wrong!
The reason I say he never sang this is. I was at a show many, many years back and he was asked by someone in the audience to sing it, a very annoyed sounding Lonnie replied, that it was not his song, and for the rest of the show he kept looking at the questioner, and if looks could kill ..... well!

Did Lonnie Donegan ever record Last Train To San Fernando, or are there any recordings of him singing it on TV ?
All I can find is Johnny Duncan and the Bluegrass Boys singing it.

Thank you.
