This is awesome. A fellow climber at NARG mentioned Monster Rock to me and I can't wait to check it out!! I thought I had been to all the local crags! I just hope as Monster Rock gets more popular (which it probably will, judging from this site), it stays natural, earthy, safe, and clean. Please don't butcher it like they are at Reimers.

Happy climbing

My friend, Russell (ARG), told me about your place. I live ~4 miles away on RO Drive. I really need to check this place out. I was raised around all these Pedernales cliffs and probably scoped your place out by boat 20 years ago!

Thanks for letting us come out yesterday. The place was a blast and can't wait to come back out.

Hey John,

Morgan and I had a lot of fun spending the day at Monster. My favorites were the undead boulder coffin problem, that awesome Insane Whisperings traverse and the pumpy 11a in the pit.

Also appreciated you and Dave's info and tips on your system training wall.

Good times! (We will definitely be back - I'll send those routes next time ;)

John, Don't know if you remember me, but I used to climb with you guys back in the mid 90's. Mostly with Joey Phillips but sometimes with Dave and you guys. Anyway I will be moving back to Austin soon. Ran across your site and am looking forward to checking out M-rock. Looks like fun!

John, This is starting to look like a family blog, since I, too, was tipped off by your mom. MR is so very, very cool! This rocks! (pun intended of course). Makes me wish I still had upper body strength. My bouldering and rock climbing was limited to Monkey Rock outside of Divide, Colorado back in the day. Merely an introduction to the sport. Now I find myself pulling up lame from my computer. How does THAT happen? A sendentary life, perhaps? Anyway, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hi Nephew
Nice rock you got there! Glad for this contact. And of course, Season's Greetings. Uncle Denton

Hi cousin,
I found your site after reading your Mom's Christmas letter. Very nice. I'm not a rock climber but my brother-in-law is/was pretty serious about it (he lives in Montana). I'll bring him by next time we're in Austin.

Nice work John. I'm looking forward to climbing there once you open it up fully... or I win a non-beginner category in a comp... doh!
