Hi, this is an exciting day for me.....not because of the move planned now for the more temperate weather of 2015 spring-fall, dates to coordinate with living search and kids to help.
The excitement? I JUST upgraded to the first level PREMIUM!!! Which means I can add pages like we used to when it was freewebs, had up to 20 pages allowed plus HTML was also allowed - those perks got cut back. Well I have now budgeted in a monthly fee of only $4.95, $5 set up and paid under $10 to get those perks back.
I love to create. I have several sites where I showcase my Photoshop composites I make for a hobby. Being 62 and retired now from nursing in 05, mortgage headhunting and loan officer training for Federal Charter Banks in Dec. 07, and bird store management in 08, (did the last 2 jobs along with agency nursing and simply burned out...) I have for the past 5 years been concentrating on learning to composite images in layers and make interesting creations/images/composites whatever with my Adobe subscription to Photoshop. I have tons of cool filters and also many other programs to deal with the photographs I take now..
I got a Nikon camera, not too expensive, just between 300 and 400 USD this past spring. I realize now I'll need one that accommodates lens switching so I can capture wild bird pics. I found online a cool toy those of you who like to bird watch...it is a powerful pair of binoculars with a cool zoom camera built right in so you can capture what you see with your binoculars!! How cool is that tech piece!!!! But those possible purchases will have to wait.
With my new Nikon I made a trip to my oldest son's place near D.C. during Cherry Blossom time, and took in a few other spots of interest as well; photoblogs followed.. I'll give addresses of my other sites below if you may have interest.
Looks like photography will be a mainstay. Went in August to Georgia to visit my sister and her oldest daughter who has lots of property with a lovely lake and wooded area behind the house. She had beautiful flowers around her house as did my sister, Betty who has her own modular in a park very much like the one I currently reside in, Bradymore Pines in Fort Gratiot, Michigan. I like it here but I visited this past long weekend my older daughter who just moved her family from Chicago to Salt Lake City, the northeast part.
The previous blog was about bird transport. I have decided since then, since I bought a newer car with really low miles on it, an 06 VW Passat, that I will pack up my birds in their travel cages, strap them in the backseat, and drive out to Utah next summer when I can be sure they won't get cold. Grab a motel room and take 3 or 4 days to drive, take my time, hey maybe (right maybe...fo sho) take some shots along the way. I'll have a kid take a UHaul with what items I want to drag cross country.
Have my 2 youngest daughter and son here fairly close to where I live, with their happy families and children I'll miss, but the kids are very close and have even with far flung homes, been certain to set up visits fairly regularly. I have 9 grandchildren, 2 are girls I just adore and the boys are smarter than is good for them! And cute, well, I'm a gramma so of COURSE my grandkids are cute!!!
So my decision NOT to fly my birds comes from not having them in my site at all times, and my ability to control their environment the whole trip to Utah; and I'll enjoy taking my time. Dog will most likely travel also with me....don't trust anyone with my pets for very long. Too precious. Ok, enough about me....wish me luck with my Amazon Ko-Ko, my grey Pepper, my German Roller male canary Beauregard Bernside III ( a 50s WGN-TV channel 9 Chicago children's show called Garfield Goose and Friends (Beau was a lazy hound dog puppet. The show starred Frazier Thomas, later of Family Classics you may recall), my white dove, Sunday Angel, and my quaker parrots, also called Monk Parakeets, blue mutated one is Sky; the typical green one, Nikki. My dog is half Shih-Tzu and half Fox (Jack Russell) Terrier (little shit and terror) white with black ears and eye and black spots...looks like my dog that was 6 when I was born...same markings but Fox (JRT) Terrier and Spitz, called Panda Bear State Jones (my maiden name) so this dog of mine naturally stepped into the II (the second) position as Panda Bear State Jones II.
Just an update is all. I shall be updating this site off and on, have a lot of post processing of photos taken in Utah to get crackin' on and blogposts to write and upload. My sites are:
