Hole Station Adult only Campsite

Woodland camping and campfires

......and a warm welcome to Hole Station Adult Only (18+) Woodland Campsite.

A natural deciduous woodland campsite in rural Devon where campfires are allowed. Your pitch is in a sheltered woodland clearing which includes a ready erected kitchen shelter and a firepit. There's no other campsite quite like Hole Station - chill central.

Everything about Hole Station Woodland Campsite is about as far from camping in a field as you can get. It is a completely different experience, not least because it is never overcrowded. Even when the every pitch is occupied you would have no idea of that until you emerge from the wood and see a full car park. At night, with your campfire going, it's really easy to imagine you have the whole place to yourselves.

You camp in a natural deciduous woodland which is managed specifically for the benefit of the flora and fauna whose home this is, and you are observers and guests.

Hole Station Campsite is well known as a place where peace, quiet, and refreshment of body and spirit can be found. This is largely because  You get to 'forest bathe'.

Forest bathing is proven to lower heart rate and blood pressure, reduce stress hormone production, boost the immune system, and improve overall feelings of well being.

Apparently forest bathing is a 'hot new trend'. It is not. It has been around since the confluence of humans and trees and is a straightforward really good thing. There is a downside of course. Campers tend to sleep late because they are so relaxed and consequently miss breakfast at the site cafe. Please note the site management do not accept responsibility for this and will not offer transport to the nearest Wetherspoons.

Campfires are encouraged. Every pitch has a firepit.

PS. Adult only camping is not naturism, it simply means 18+ only.

Use the calendar below to check date availability, cost and the different types of camping available. You can also book if you wish, and guarantee your pitch right now! If you don't see a calendar below click here.  Or view on a laptop or pc if not showing on your mobile - there are times when the software doesn't like mobiles. It's a thing.

Here's something interesting for you - you don't actually need a tent or any camping equipment to camp here!

We do a thing called Rent-A-Tent camping. Essentially all you have to do is rustle up some bedding, torches and a toiletry kit and we provide everything else. This includes a large deluxe fully equipped dining shelter - like this pic. It's camping without the effort or a really easy intro for newbies. Have a look at the Rent-A-Tent tab above. This service has many many fans including converts from BYO campers.

For Cyclists

The LEJOG/JOGLE route passes the campsite entrance, as does the Devon Coast to Coast R27. Cyclists are always welcome here, you will never be turned away. We have an on site cafe for hearty breakfasts, and our local pub serves excellent evening meals - a 20 minute walk for those whose legs would like to step away from the bicycle for a period :-)
