2005 Cort Curbow White Chameleon
2005 Cort Curbow White Chameleon...Not made by Cort. Stories from the previous owner. Bought this bass direct from Simon Griffiths at Curbow in 2005 just before Greg Curbow passed away. This is the last White Chameleon model they made. It has matte silver hardware and a custom Curbow neck (not a typical factory Cort Curbow neck). Definitely one of a kind! Hi Scott, You have a new message on Reverb.com regarding your Cort Curbow 4 String Bass 2005 White Camelion. Hey Scott, so glad the bass made it safely and that it has a new home! Enjoy it my friend. As far as the background, sure thing. Back when you could order the Cort Curbow basses direct, I talked with Mr. Simon Griffiths to get my hands on a white one. When it arrived I noticed something that seemed a little different where the neck joined the body and I also had trouble locating the serial number for the warranty info, so I called Simon for help. He was surprised and told me he would do some research. When he called back, he said the bass had a crazy story. Curbow assembled the bass in house. Because it was the last chameleon white body without a paired factory neck, Curbow decided to put a custom neck on it. Simon contacted Cort for me to explain the situation and get the warranty going, but since the bass now had a custom part outside the standard, Cort wouldn't honor the warranty. With the situation being so unique, Simon verified the warranty for me and it was honored through Curbow instead. He was very kind through the whole process of figuring it out and I was happy to get something better than expected. Truly a great company! Thank you again and I hope you make great use of it!
