The Great Mouse Detective (1986)
two (2) original production animation drawings
blue and black pencil on two (2) untrimmed animation sheets, image size: 6" x 7" and 6.5" x 7.5"

These two (2) original rough animation drawings of Dr. David Q.Dawson and the handsome Lady Mouse were created by Disney animator Andreas Deja in development of the same scene in the animated feature. Both are animator's extreme drawings with grids drawn at upper right and are signed by Andreas Deja. At the film's conclusion the lovely damsel-in-distress appears at 2211/2 Baker Street—"home of the famous Basil of Baker Street"—to seek help in "the mysterious disappearance of an emerald ring missing from the third finger of her right hand."

Mr. Deja's career at Disney began in 1980; his first credit was as an animator on The Black Cauldron (1985), followed by The Great Mouse Detective (1986), and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). He was supervising animator of King Triton in The Little Mermaid (1989), Gaston in Beauty and the Beast (1991), Jafar in Aladdin (1992), Scar in The Lion King (1994), Hercules in Hercules (1997), Lilo in Lilo and Stitch (2002), Queen Narissa in Enchanted (2007), Mama Odie and Juju in The Princess and the Frog (2009), and Tigger in Winnie the Pooh (2011). He is currently working on a personal animated film, and writes a regular, entertaining and informative blog, "Deja View," found at

The animator wrote the designations "33" and "35" at lower right to indicate each original's place in the scene. Our certificate of authenticity is included.
