Description (from Howard
The Great Mouse Detective (1986)
two (2) original production animation cel paintings

gouache on two (2) untrimmed animation cel sheets, image size: 5.75" x 8.75"; with Disney seal, 5.75" x 9.75"

These two (2) matching hand-painted animation cels of Basil, the film's title character, and Dr. Dawson were created in the Disney ink-and-paint department and photographed together during the making of the animated feature based on the story Basil of Baker Street by Eve Titus. Basil and Dawson search the Toy Shop for clues to the whereabouts of Hiram Flaversham while Olivia wanders about, enthralled with the many toys. When she lifts the covers in a doll's cradle where Fidget is hiding, the peg-legged bat growls and Basil and Dawson react to the sound. These cels were selected for distribution through Disney's art program, and "The Walt Disney Company" seal is on the cel of Dawson at lower right. Studio designations B23 and "22" are written at lower right to mark each cel's place in the scene. Our certificate of authenticity is included.

VERY FINE+ condition.
