Age 27. Husband of Annie Grace Sarginson, of 10 Church Street Shap, Westmorland. Enlisted 7th October 1914. Died of wounds 2nd April 1916. Whilst with No2 Entrenching Battalion at C Camp, Belgium, was detailed to dispose of an unexploded shell with 2 other men. The man carrying the shell dropped it near an incinerator and it exploded, wounding 6 men, including C.Q.M.S. Sarginson. He died of these wounds.
