Currently an adjunct faculty at GWU in Washington DC; I submitted and defended my Ph.D. (disseration: Violence and its Mastery: Habitus and Ideology of Mande hunters) in INALCO Paris in 2006 (with, as advisor, Jean Derive). I've been studing the Mande hunters for 14 years now being interested in their bodily pracitce, present and past engament in the management of violence as well as the religious dimensions of their organization and bush experience.
My ongoing research is centered on the topic of the body in cultures, biological roots of agression, somatic basis of religious experience, relatinship between body and power, etc. I also consider a project consisting in the comparison of Bushmen and Mande hunters habitus, imaginaries and social organizations.
