David's Eurythmics collection

a music & memorabilia obsession (Update: 27 SEPTEMBER 2015)

Great news!  Annie Lennox will release her sixth studio album, Nostalgia, where she puts her spin on jazz standards from the 1930s and 1940s, made famous by such artists as Hoagy Carmichael, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone.  The album will be released on vinyl format first in the US on September 30, 2014, a format that Annie feels best suits these songs.  The album will be released in the US on CD format and digital download on October 21, along with a CD/DVD deluxe edition exclusively from Amazon.com that features a live version of the first single from the album, I Put A Spell On You.  The worldwide release is on October 27. Amazon.com currently will allow you to pre-order the vinyl and exclusive CD/DVD release.  They offer two-day shipping so that you can receive the vinyl on its release date!  The tracklist includes:

Memphis in June
Georgia on My Mind
I Put a Spell on You
I Cover the Waterfront
Strange Fruit
God Bless the Child
You Belong to Me
September in the Rain
I Can Dream, Can’t I?
The Nearness of You
Mood Indigo

On January 28, 2014, Eurythmics reunited in remembrance of the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' first appearance on US TV on the Ed Sullivan show.  They performed a song that Annie Lennox reportedly wanted to perform, The Fool On The Hill.  In honor of that performance, I'm posting a rare US performance of The Tourists on American soil performing another Beatles hit, Ticket To RideClick on the Stop button at the bottom of this page to disable the background music before listening to this rare performance.
