The Cassia County Sheriff’s Office located in Burley Idaho is seeking qualified applicants for Patrol Deputy. We are a career-oriented department with many opportunities to serve. Deputies can serve as a Dog Handler, School Resource Officer, Civil deputy, Narcotics Investigations, General Investigations, etc.… Overtime opportunities are available working Marine Patrol, Mountain Patrol, Snowmobile Patrol, covering miscellaneous events and special shifts.
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, PERSI retirement, 10 paid holidays, 2 weeks of PTO, and 2 weeks of vacation that increases to 4 weeks vacation based on how long you have been employed with Cassia County.
Pay: Salary will be based on training, certification, and/or experience.
$19.27 per hour or $40,081.00 per year for non-certified officer.
$19.85 per hour or $41,288.00 per year for Idaho POST certified officer.
Testing will be conducted to establish a pool of qualified applicants from which future vacancies may be filled. A successful candidate must meet all minimum qualifications established by the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training Council. Preference will be given to those applicants that are currently Idaho P.O.S.T. certified. For non-Idaho P.O.S.T. certified applicants, testing will consist of the Idaho P.O.S.T. physical fitness test and a written examination. The oral board interview will follow for the applicants that successfully passed the two prior requirements. For Idaho P.O.S.T. certified applicants that have been employed in law enforcement within the past two years, the physical and written tests will be waived. P.O.S.T. certified applicants will be scheduled for the oral board interview only. Idaho POST Physical Test Standards can be found at
