Welcome to the Bishopston Men's Society Website
Dennis Llewellyn-Rees
Dennis Llewelyn Rees' funeral will take place on Friday, 31 August 2018 at 10:30 St Teilo's Church, Bishopston and  then at Llanelli Crematorium at 12:00 noon.

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Dennis Llewellyn Rees died on Friday, 17 August 2018 after his battle with a long illness. Whilst sad, it is also a relief as Dennis' condition had deteriorated significantly in recent weeks. I have spoken to his wife Barbara and offered our sympathy and support.
Dennis joined the society around 1996. He was Chairman in the year 2000-2001 and served on the Committee for a number of years. I loved his stories and he had a wonderful sense of humour. He will be sadly missed.
Dennis was an outstanding member.  We missed his attendance at meetings over the past year.  Even during his illness he still took a keen interest in the Society and its individual members. It was a great joy to see him when he was well enough to attend a very occasional Wednesday night meeting.
His humour, humility, wisdom, warmth and personal friendship will be greatly missed by us all. It has been a privilege to have known Dennis for so many reasons but mainly as a true gentleman and friend. Truely a big man in stature and in personality.

Chairman

About The Society

The Bishopston Men's Society (BMS) was formed by a group of like minded men who had the vision of setting up a society that would offer the men of Bishopston the opportunity to meet in a friendly, social and learning setting, and play their part in the community.  Through active community participation we highlight key features of local history and create a sense of community awareness that encourage local men and those new to Bishopston to nurture and help maintain an ongoing commitment to village and community life in an ever changing world.

The Society aims to provide members with a forum where they can put on and attend a programme of talks, activities and events, enabling members to meet other people who enjoy doing similar things and have common interests.

The overall objective of the Society is to promote the spiritual, academic and physical welfare of its members, and to contribute to the cultural needs of Bishopston and its environs.  Our main achievement will be measured by the awareness, continued activity and interest in the Society.

The Society encourages members to be enthusiastic about all things Bishopston and to foster a love and pride of the village, its history, culture and traditions.  A number of meetings and other functions are held between September and April.  So come and join us for fellowship and to hear our guest speakers.

The Society welcomes visitors and new additional members will be warmly received into our midst. The Secretary can be contacted from our Contact Page.  Or, the application details on the Membership Page may be used.
