BARTLANS BOXERS

KENNEL CLUB ACCREDITED BREEDER.

2011.    Badger and  I have had a fun year, we have been to many shows with average success, we have travelled in the Beemobile Motor Home to lots of shows, Going to Blackpool which was our furthest trip, to reasonably local showgrounds, we hope to do something similar next year!

COTSWOLD BOXER CLUB

In December 2010 the club held the finals of their 12 monthly match winners,

,I was very pleased to take Badger as a match winner earlier in the year,

The Judge was Mrs Nancy Evans for the Adults and

Mr Clive Evans for the puppies.  Breeders of the Amazon Dobermans.

It was a most enjoyable evening with the customary huge raffle, nibbles and laughter,

I was delighted when Badger was declared the overall winner of the year.

And he was as usual most modest about his achievement!

BRITISH BOXER CLUB OPEN SHOW 28TH ONOV 2010

JUDGED BY MR JIM GARDENER (IRELAND)

BADGER WAS ENTERED IN OPEN AND WON HIS CLASS,

SOUTH WESTERN BOXER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 13-11-10

JUDGE FOR THE DOGS MISS JEAN LANNING

FOR THE BITCHES: MR K  JOHANSSON (SWEEDEN)

So Badger was as usual entered in Limit, the surprise on looking in the catalogue was to see that 25 entries were in Limit which was the biggest entry of the day, in fact its the biggest class I have been in in years. Badger was not daunted and did his usual best, the class took ages to judge but I was delighted to get VHC and the winner of the class went on to take the championship ticket

MIDLANDS COUNTIES CANINE SOCIETY 35TH CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

28-10-2010

JUDGE MRS SUSAN BALLINGER (TYNTEVILLE BOXERS)

Badger and I set off on the Wednesday morning for this show in a Motor Home I bought about 6 weeks ago, this elderly girl I called Minnie and this was the first time I ventured on a journey, had not ventured far when I had a Blow out on back tyre, so the journey of 2 hours took 4 and3/4 hours, what an experiance!

It was a great day at the show for Bartlans, Bartlans Brer Rabbit at Porth was 3rd in minor puppy, BartlansBridled Passion at Kezialeigh had a VHC, Bartlans Eva Green at Mananin was 2nd in Limit and our own Bartlans Badger Wood also had a 2nd in Limit.

The journey home was uneventful!

BOURNEMOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2010

Judge Mr D . Smith

This was a day of Mixed weather and we were in and out of the wet weather tent like yoyo's, this is not good here as the benching tent for the dogs is quite a trip from the wet weather ring and the wet weather ring quite a way from the outside ring, not only that but this year with only showery weather it would have been better to stay outside and put up with an occasional damping.

Badger had a Reserve in a very strong Limit class.

NATIONAL AND WORKING BREEDS CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 17TH JULY 2010

Judged by mrs L Wearing (Miofrey)

This was Badgers first time in Limit after winning himself out of Post Graduate so now he is with the 'best boys!' I was very pleased to have a Reserve with him.

WINDSOR CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 3RD JULY 2010

Judge today was Mr T Hutchings (Winuwuk)

Blisteringly hot day but due to having wet weather tenting adjoining the main ring the dogs were able to keep reasonably cool and at times the cool breeze helped too. There was a good sized entry and I was very pleased that Badger beat off many of his excellant rivals to 2nd place, his sister Eva also had a second place in her class for Sam Cant.

TYNE WEAR AND TEES CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 1-5-10

Judge for the dogs Mr J McManus for the Bitches Sue Malcolm

Long way to go for this show and I was up very very early but it was a good easy trip (not that I was driving) Badger entered into Post Grad and he had a 2nd which I was pretty happy about and he behaved and showed well.

WEST OF ENGLAND LADIES KENNEL SOCIETY 25-4-10.

Judge Mrs Pam Broughton. (GLENFALL)             Reserve Challenge Certificate

Badger was entered as usual into Post Graduate and so I went off on my own (Sam has had her baby girl) I wasnt going to linger long at the show as I have Sams Dogs staying as well as her friends bitch who has one puppy now four weeks old, it was an awful lot of dogs to leave for my other half to look after not to mention the puppy, especially as he did the honours last weekend.

My Mother died years ago now but her birthday was on this date so when Badger won his class it seemed to be a good date to do it on, I had to call Ken and tell him I couldnt get home but he had fed the puppy and all was well so of course I felt much more relaxed waiting to go back into the ring for the challenge, Badgers Sire CH Winuwuk Lust at First Sight was given the CC and so second in Open came into the ring to challenge which seemed a good time to get the boyo standing to attention! I looked up and there was the Judge coming toward me, wow could I believe it, the RCC, people said my face said it all! How proud am I of this Dog of mine, to get the reserve on the same day his Sire got his 40th CC. Its as awesome as Sams pretty baby girl Charlotte.

MERSEYSIDE BOXER CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 18TH APRIL

Judge for the Dogs was Ann Wildman and for ther Bitches Marion Cowen.

Change of Judge for Dogs as the Volcanic Dust Cloud prevented Mrs Laamanen from flying.

Badger was entered into Post Graduate and was awarded Reserve, I made a mistake on the corner in moving him and he slipped,  I look forward to going into the outdoor rings but this show always has a nice atmostphere, this was its Diamond Anniversary and all competitors had a complimentary bottle of wine which went down well with all of us.

but this show always has a nice atmostphere, roll on next week when we go outside for the first time this year.

DFS CRUFTS 2010

The day started the night before when I went to stay with Sam Cant, she lives in the same village that the Cotswold Boxer Club have their monthly Match nights and the match night was the night before Crufts, Sam was to show Badger at Crufts as I was in the class before him with Henry. so for a practice we went to the Match, Henry was not selected but Badger won  overall so a  good result, we then went off and tried to get a  good nights sleep. At five am the good nights sleep had evaded both of us as Crufts is just too exciting! We got there in good time and settled down to watch Mr. Chris Cray judging dogs and Mrs. Kari Wilberg judging bitches. Henry was in Graduate and during the judging there was a hold up as we waited for a couple of exhibiters who had had a big hold up on the Motorway, this meant that Sams Bartlans Eva Green and my Bartlans Badger Wood were going to be in our respective rings at the same time, so I handled Badger and we were both looking to see how each other were getting on, I was pulled out with Badger and was just lined up for the Judge to take a second look when I saw Sam and Eva take first place out of a very big class, Fantastic, even better when Badger was pulled out into second place, I was over the moon. Eva didn't get any further but we had a great day, alas dear Henry was not placed but he was very good,  And Sams other girl had VHC so that was our day at dfs Crufts 2010.

MIDLAND BOXER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 13-2-10

Judge for the boys was Dr. Orietta Zilli (Dei Boioni - Italy) and the Judge for the girls was Mr Stephen Gething (Jedhi)

This new Kennel Club Building at Stonleigh Park Warwickshire is a lovely large building and with two rings of ample size it makes showing a pleasure.

Badger had a VHC in very good company.

LADIES KENNEL ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 13-12-09

Judge today for both the dogs and the bitches Mr Barry Alton.

In Post Graduate I was delighted to be placed 3rd with Badger in a very nice class, it was exactly a year ago at this society's Ch show that Badger won his Reserve Challenge Certificate, it has been a pretty good year and much fun, I would like to point out here that theres a big thank you to my buddy Samantha Cant for handling Badger to most of his accolades, now its my turn as Sam will be taking on her own maternal duties in the New Year.

COTSWOLD BOXER 30TH CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 6-12-09

Judge for the dogs. Mrs Betty Mcdonald (Yeteb) and the bitch Judge Mr Joao Vasco Pocas (Portugal)

Badger was entered in Post Graduate which he won, he was then pulled out to the last four for the CC This accolde went to his Dad the brilliant Ch Winuwuk Lust at First Sight, the RCC went to Viraleas Dancing Deano at Jimbren. This was a brilliant show which flowed comfortably throughout the day. The first prize in all the classes was a celebration wine glass etched with the date etc and  Boxer Head and a chew for the dog. There were 2 wonderfully decorated cakes made by Leigh Edgeler, all the winners were able to select a hand knitted hat made by Marion Ward-Davies, the wine flowed, along wth the tins of sweets and mince pies, oh and nuts. The atmostphere was brlliant but due to being under the weather I missed having my friend Sam with me. Well done to The Cotswold BC for putting on such a great show (as usual)

BRITISH BOXER OPEN SHOW 29-11-09

 Judge Mrs Val Jordan (Sunvalley)

Beebs was entered at this show but she came into seaon and I decided to withdraw her, but Badger went and won his class. This win means he has to move up a class now and will be in PostGraduate.

SOUTH WALES BOXER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW. 21-11-09.

JUDGE TODAY WAS MR ANDREW BRACE

Badger had a first in Graduate.

Mr  Brace wrote in his critique: Medium sized evenly marked b/w who appealed for his superb balance and oveall correctness, quality head with clean cheeks, very expressive eyes and one of the best mouths and sets of teeth I saw all day, though a littlemore tilt to his nose would gild the lily. Very shrp clean outline wth beautifully crested neck, well filled forechest, good bone right down to his tight feet, perfect top and underlines and moderately angulated hindquarters that balance with his front, moves well enough up and down but in profile I would just have liked more power from behind and reach in front. Nonetheless the overall picture more than warrented winning a good class.

This was the best and most accurate critique I have had for Badger and describes him exactly which is why I have included it. Shown by Sam Cant of Mananin Boxers. Many thanks Sam.

SOUTH WESTERN BOXER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 14-11-09
