This high performance single seater which initially received the designation M580 was a project inherited from the Dewoitine D.520/550/551 fighters after the last specifications requirements from the French government on November 11, 1939. The idea was to attach two Hispano-Suiza 12Z engines able to reach 3600 hp with two contra-props of three blades each, to be renamed Hispano-Suiza 24Z. A wide radiator intake was then designed to be located just aft the cockpit on top of the fuselage, with an outlet at the bottom of the fuselage.

Construction began during WW2 from 1941 to 1945, and an order for completion of the two prototypes was made by the new French government after the war. However development issues of the 24Z engine and fast development of jet engines caused the project cancellation by 1946.

Therefore, here is a nicely done "What if" subject and Gaetan chose to represent an aircraft in colors of the 1944 "Groupe Doret"
