Before you start field training, it is important to get your team in a room and go over the code words, and all the techniques to use (such as the firing and loading words). Radio communication has to be strict, your team can not afford any communication confusion. to eliminate this draw out certain secters on the map and name them. limit radio chatter to an emergency or mission basis. only use the radio when you are reporting your route: where you are, how much ammo and supplies you have etc. if you have over 2 people with radios be sure to say who you are and who you are talking to.

before you begin make sure you are safe. if you are using live ammo then make sure your team knows how to use their weapons. before doing actual field patrols make sure you and your team get time in a target range to get used to your weapons.

hand signals are also a must if you are on personal vehicles such as snowmobiles or dirtbikes. all it takes is one missed turn to scatter your whole team. iven if you are patrolling on foot it is important to be able to communicate to your team without speaking at all. i cant tell youwhich hand signals to use, make a signal for stop, go, turn left, turn rite, spread out, clear an area to a certain radius. for example: if you want to take a brake where you stand but are un aware of the situation around you and dont want to speak, use a twirling motion with your hand then pont to the ground underneath you. hand signals let you communicate with your team without haveing to let off your gaurd.

Before you start, realize that these tutorials are with 2 people assuming you will not have a very large group to work with. while in combat aongside another unit always conserve amo and efficiency by haveing one man fire while the other waits until he is empty and while the first man is empty and reloading, the second man begins firing. when this process is happening, it is absolutely imparitive that you communicate with one another. you dont have to give a full explanation of what you are doing. simple words like these make a world of difference: yell Firing! before you start firing. once you have used your rounds yell Loading! this way your partner  knows when he can begin firing while hes watching the enemy. becuase if your partner is watching you shoot and load he can not have his full concentration on the enemy. of coarse if there are unbearable numbers of zombies you will retreat to a stronger postion. but if you are eliminating a smaller group of 20 to 30 zombies it is important you use the stated technique.

this is a training coarse to get you and your partner farmiliar with the reality of zombie hunting.

Field Training tutorial number one: suppression force.

A group of 2 people patrol in the bush with their full zombie hunting equipment.

In one designated spot there are previously set up hay bails (for zombies)

The supressors must eliminate the zombie threat as quick as possible and move on to the safe zone while an over sear tags along to watch them and record their techniques.

Field Training tutorial number two: navigation.

A group of 2 people use a map and patrol a strict perimeter of a certain safe zone while shooting random lone zombies.

Certain checkpoints are located on the map that they must reach.

Each check point has a specific code name

Once they reach the checkpoint then they are to report the checkpoint to the home base.

They report the following: how many casualties (if there are any, what is the extremity) what your ammo count is, how many zombies you have taken care of and how your equipment is holding up (ie: how much water you have etc.)

The group of 2 finishes the whole perimeter and reports back to the home base.

before we start this tutorial, just so that no body is confused a spotter is someone to look out for the sniper while he is taking aim. as you have probably experienced it is rather hard to keep an eye on your surroundings while you have a target in your scope. this gives a lurking zombie all the time he needs to sneek up behind you. with a spotter, it eliminates the risk of another attack.

Field Training tutorial number 3: sniping.

A sniper and a spotter go locate a good sniping spot.

Once they arrive they mark their spot on the map, call the base telling them where they are.

Once they are ready they begin eliminating zombies (hay bails for practice with cans on top for the head)

Once there are no more zombies they wait a little while to see if anymore show up.

Once there are no more, they call into base reporting that they are coming back.

The group returns to base.

Field Training tutorial number 4: transporting troops.

This tutorial is done with 3-4 people and practices loading and unloading troops in the battle zone.

1 truck in the convoy, with any where from 2-3 people in the back (average team size)

drive into a location, the team quickly dismounts from the vehicle except for the driver.

The troops kill all surrounding zombies and then the truck comes back around to get them.

The first step in this tutorial is navigation. Always have a home base set up and have them in constant communication with the driver. Before the driver sets off from the home base, the driver must call in its route so that it can be put onto a map or another navigation device. It may take time for HQ to process the information so make sure ypu (the driver) waits until HQ gives you a green light to go. Keep a checkpoint strategy like the one you used in the suppression training, every time youcome to a corner, make that a checkpoint and call in your position so HQ can fallow you and know where you are while they are safe inside the building. The driver at the same time has to be in contact with the ground troops as well. It would be a good idea to have one person on the ground person with a radio, the driver with a radio and home base with a radio. The ground troops only need to use the radio to ask to get picked up or if they are in trouble.
