Letter of the week:
Zombie hunters: is it possible for me to become a zombie? i would really like to experience all that the zombie world has to offer cause i heard they dont feel anything, is that true? - from Jack in the box
Well "Jack": let me answer your question with another question: are you stupid? yes, indeed you must be to wish for a thing like that. the zombie world has nothing to offer, unless you like a 3 to 5 year life span of eating raw human flesh. and no, zombies can not feel anything, idiot. - johnny chimpo

Ramathorn interviews a Canadian Armed Forces soldier about the aproach that they would take on a zombie attack.
Our own Ramathorn held a brief "Q&A" with a local Canadian Armed Forces soldier on February third.
Q: What would the military do if theres been a zombie attack on winnipeg and its become a little bit more than an inconveniance and the police cant handle it. what would the army do?
A: I assume martial law would be implimented.
Parts of the city with the highest population of "zombies" would be evacuated.
I'm working on speculation, since we've never had that problem before.
Q:What sort of weapons would they be equipped with? do you think theyd have their larger C7s or would they be limmitted to just rioting setup?
A: The C7 would still be standard issue.
C9's and C6's would also be widely implimented
Q: Ok, so you say that certain areas of the infested zone owuld be evacuated, what do you think would be done to protect the other areas? would they enforce some sort of cerfew rule?
A: Martial law would normally come with a curfew.
Q: What about intelligence, how would the ranking officers in charge gather their intelligence on their suspects? do you think that maybe before they started evacuating they would get some knowledge of how people are being infected?
Usually what seems to happen is when people are being evacuated they usually take their bitten family with them only spreading the virus further and further away.
Q: Would they begin evacuations immediately?
A: I honestly dont know, we have never been in this sort of situation before.
Q: What exactly are C6's, C7's and C9's?
A: A C6 is a heavy machine gun, a C9 is a light machine gun, a C7 is an assualt rifle, similar to the American M16.
Q: I think that the army would set up rally points so to speak for civillians to come to get aid and everything like that, is this a rational thought?
A: Well, I don't think they'd go by rally points.
If you want to see them in action, there's a training EX going on in downtown Winnipeg at the end of April.
Excellent, i will be there.
Q: Would they set up aid stations for civillians in an outbreak though? or would they just sorta do their job asap and get out?
A: Help Canadian's? Of course.
Q: Would the army allow 3rd part teams to operate within the city, like an offensive against zombies. would they be allowed to battle zombies with fire arms?
A: It's the Army's way or the highway, but the Army would assist the locals. If they want to help out they should enlist.
Q: Your in the army, and your out on a routine patrol and you come across a battle going on between a band of the locals and some zombies, do you step in and afterwards leave? or would there be questioning involved?
A: Im sure they would stop and give the locals a hand, but of course there's questioning.
With that the questions stopped and after being thanked for his time, the soldier was on his way.

ZHAP's team vehicle of the month
The Kawasaki is our monthly zombie hunters transport of choice, first next only to the "Bravo", this machine is clearly one of the mightiest transporters of all time. Deemed "Car Ramrod" by Ramathorn, this vehicle seats a driver and a gunner or passenger. This vehicle is very easily accesible by the passenger and is able to be boarded while the snowmobile is still in motion. the 2 handles on the sides of the back end help the passenger to be easily secured while driving. the re-inforced hood and underside protects the 440 cc engine.
with a top speed of 150 miles/hour this machine can easily lose a zombie hoard if need be. The steel track is durable and can withstand just about any beating. Our team has 3 machines such as this one for winter transportation, since each one seats 2 people, that can necesitate our entire crew as well as 2 more refugees or other cargo.
Unfortunatley car ramrod has been put out of commission as of Friday, January 27th; the pull coard to start it seemingly snapped and we have been forced to take an unwanted trip to Canadian Tire to buy a new one. This should not take long and should be back running in 2 weeks.
The Kawasaki trully is a credit to our force and we hope it will be for many more years.
