April ~

Today the 3 of us met to discuss our new books { Hidden, Marked, and Journey } and as we began to write we found ourselves continually calling each other crud and hurtful names, of course we meant them only to be funny, yet the words only seemed to dampen our moods, and give us brain block. Finally as we were nearing the end of the unsuccessful day  Samantha decided to say something about it. Sitting cross legged on the bed she stared across at Rachel and I, “Guys.” She said with a look of irritation in her tone. “I truly think the names we have been using toward each other have destroyed our creative thinking pattern today!” Giving her a lopsided grin Rachel sat in silence as I replied, “You know I think you are right Sam, for words are a very powerful thing.” Grabbing a bible Samantha flipped it open as I continued, “I also think maybe when we get together we should start out with prayer.” Smiling Samantha turned the bible around so Rachel and I could read the verse she was pointing to -

Romans 15: 1-5

We may know that these things make no difference, but we cannot just go ahead and do them to please ourselves. We must be considerate of the doubts and fears of those who think these things are wrong. We should please others. If we do what helps them, we will build them up in the Lord. For even Christ didn't please himself. As the Scriptures say, "Those who insult you are also insulting me." Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. They give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises. May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other-each with the attitude of Christ Jesus toward the other. “and I think this will be our verse for today,” Samantha said, “It was like we were supposed to read it, cause this was the first thing I came to when I opened it.” Pulling the bible into her lap Rachel read the words to herself, “Wow I think this it our verse for the week.” “Ok,” I suddenly cut in, I think we should say a little prayer.” Grabbing each others hands we took turns praying and when we finished we all felt like a burden had been lifted.

What all this means to us ~

Romans 15 Tells us to build each other up instead of tear each other down, for the insults of those who insult you will fall upon the Lord. What this means is when you say things that are hurtful even though you mean only to be funny they subconsciously tear apart the persons esteem and self worth. Words are so powerful, for the world was created by the spoken words from the Lords mouth, and can transform a persons life for the better or worse.

We have a friend and she is so awesome to be around because of the love she shows toward others. When she sees you she gives you the biggest heart felt hug you could ever imagine and then she will just randomly tell you that you look beautiful, hott or just plain Georges . The words she says uplift your heart and make you feel special even though they are so simple.

Conclusion ~ Words can bring downfall or rise you to above the clouds ~ Bring comfort or devastation ~ So choose your words careful. Encourage your friends when they need it and tell them how special they are. Never let them feel low, and always make sure that they know that your are there for them ~ Friendship is so important!
