The slow fall of the Indus Valley Civilation

No one knows the real reason why the Indus Valley Civilization fell. By 2000 B.C. decay began to rain down on the cities, and no one tried to stop it. The streets remained broken, without repairs, the housing was falling apart, and only ghosts occupied some towns. Until recently, the evidence showed that someone had conquered the Indus Valley, but new information shows that the Valley could have declined only due to natural causes. Maybe the climate became too dry to farm, which took away the food supply from the whole society. Perhaps the soil was too exhausted from years and years of farming. Or maybe The Indus river changed course, or there was major flooding.
While their society was decaying, the people moved to other parts of India. Today, the people of southern India are called the Dravidians. Over time, they have built magnificent kingdoms in the Deccan Plateau.
