| Smear PVA-glue on the spine and work it good in with a brush. Allow the glue set with the book.
Then glue once again and let it dry.
|

To make the cover
| In the meantime make the cover of the book.
Cut two pieces of cardboard, slighty bigger than the page of the book and a very small piece for the spine. You can measure the width of the book block.

cardboard glued to the paper
|

| Fold the flab’s in and glue them fast. Put the cover in form and let it dry.
Cut out of decorative paper two endpapers. Glue them to the book block.
Smear glue to the backside of the book block and glue it into the cover. Fold the cover over the book block.
Turn it over and glue the frontside of the book block to the cover.
Open the book and press the endpapers to the edge of the sideboard. You have to do this at both sides.
Place a peace of plastic or wax paper between the cover and the text block and place it under a press or putt it under something heavy.
Let it stay there for at least 24 hour. |
I hope you enjoyed this workshop.
