Casey is young and energized. Despite her youth, at age 19, she has a world of experience. She knows how to please the crowd and can dance for any audience.
Not only has Casey learned belly dance from her mother,Zakia Hamwee, she has studied with some of Miami's most respected dancers/instructors, Scheherazade and Jihan Jamal. She has been educated in traditional Lebanese style by Tasha Banat and non-traditional belly dance by Saz'rhah of El Paso. She has taken workshops with highly acclaimed dancers such as Fahtiem, Amaya, Virginia, Ava Fleming, Sonia (belly dance super star) to name a few.
Casey has returned to El Paso after studying and performing for 1 year with the internationally known, master dancer Karen Barbee Adkisson in San Antonio.
In the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area, Casey started performing at the age of 6 and is now one of El Paso's most sought after performers.
She was the founder and artistic director of Loretto’s High School belly dance club, Banat Al Jana, who won first place in the troupe category of Desert Fire 2006 and 2nd place in 2007. At the age of 16 she also won second place in the professional category of Desert Fire Belly Dance Competition and 2nd Place in the Fusion Category.
Casey has performed not only in the El Paso/Las Cruses but was seen regularly in the Arabic clubs throughout San Antonio, She has performed in Albuquerque, Atlantic City, Boston and in the Miami/Ft.Lauderdale area. Presently Casey teaches classes and can be seen performing at Al-Zaituna's, Middle Eastern Restaurant in El Paso, TX
