'Young scholars' present research

The future of Florida shone last Thursday night as forty participants of the "Young Scholars Program" presented their summer research projects. The students displayed their research on posters, like those found in real-world scientific disciplines.

Throughout the summer program, students worked with professors on topics like genetic cloning and hurricane forecasting. In addition to working on their projects, students took classes and participated in field trips that focused on various disciplines within the science field.

James Warford, chancellor of Florida's K-12 educational system, served as the guest of honor for the event.
