Young M.A.F.I.A. Inc. was founded in 2007 by DeCarlo & Kerine Whitaker based on a vision GOD gave DeCarlo in 1997. When DeCarlo met Kerine in 2005 he knew that she was the missing piece needed to bring that vision to life. GOD has given both of them a gift of being able to connect with the youth of today. A task which seems impossible to most adults! The two joined their God proven gifts together by marrying on December 31, 2006.
Having gone through many trials and tribulations, these two are able to speak to the issues that plague many of our adults today. Yet because of their love for the youth, they have focused their gifts towards the young men and women of the world. DeCarlo, born and raised in Washington D.C., is very open about his experience with drugs, gangs and jail, just to name a few. Kerine, born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Bridgeport Ct. from the age of 8, speaks passionately about her experiences with relationships, family, molestation, fatherlessness, and the suicide of a loved one, among other things. The main thing that they can speak on is how GOD has brought them through the storms.
The two together are the proud parents of seven children ages 11-18. So what they do for the community's children isn't just a job, IT'S A LIFESTYLE!!!!!
