Meeting Minutes
The CNU Young Democrats met at 7pm on March 29, 2006. Items discussed
were:
1. Mayor Frank Campaign:
-A sign up sheet was passed around to organize a phone banking trip.
The phone banking will be done at Alan Diamonstein's office from
5:30-8. If you didn't sign up at the meeting and would like to
participate, please email the club account.
-Mayor Frank's "Friendraiser" was today at the VA Living Museum. Hope
everyone who went had a great time!
2. Chili Cook Off
-Thanks to everyone who attended the invitation party as Jess'
apartment!
3. Fundraiser Info
-MARK YOUR CALENDARS: April 19th, 7-9pm (a Wednesday meeting day) The
CNU Young Dems will be at Cold Stone making ice cream and raising
money!!!! More information will be coming soon. Get excited! It'll be
fun!
4. SGA Banquet
-Monday, April 17th in Ferg. at 7pm. All club members are invited.
5.Elections
-Elections will be held on Wednesday, April 5 (This week's meeting).
Please email the club account if you would like to nominate someone or
self nominate. The avaliable positions are: President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer, and Public Relations Chair. Again, email the club
account by MONDAY NIGHT if you would like to nominate!
The CNU Young Democrats met on Wednesday, March 15th at 7pm. Items
discussed were:
1) Tshirts will be in soon! (Cameron may already have them, actually.)
If you haven't paid yet, please see Cameron or Dylan.
2) Amazon: Thanks to Brian and Dylan everytime the amazon.com link is
used on our website, we get a percentage of the proceeds! So please use
the link!!!
3) Convention is next week! Everyone who is attending needs to be in at
the Richmond Convention Center and dressed by 5:30 or earlier if
possible. Friday dress is business casual, Saturday dress is business
casual for the day and business formal for the banquet dinner.
STUFF TO BRING:
-clothes
-extra cash for food
-cash for convention tshirts
-a clipboard with paper and pen
-a swimsuit if you choose

4) Vanessa McCoy, a Convention candidate for East Region Chair will be
attending the meeting next week to talk to us.
5) There is a Newport News City Committee meeting next Thursday.
President Jessica Bowman may not be able to attend, so please let her
know if you would like to go. jessica.bowman.04@cnu.edu
6) Newport News Mayorial candidate Joe Frank's HQ is open on Warwick.
If you have some spare time, it would be great to have some volunteers
working on his campaign.
7) The CNU Young Democrats 2nd Annual Chili Cook Off is slated for
April 22nd. Please mark your calendars. More information will be
forthcoming.
