Graphology is the scientific study and analysis of handwriting which depictes a person's personality. It may open the ways to many unexplored areas for anyone. Coupled with psychology and knowledge of human behaviour, it can be used for many varied purposes. For example, Recuitment, Marriage compatibility, Career Guidance, Motivate workers, Child developement... etc.
I have copied an article from 'life Positive', which shows that graphology can be used as a therapy and, self help/self improvement tool:
Life Positive,
Your handwriting can reveal a personality flaw or an illness for which expert like Dr. Anand Minocha recommends handwriting therapy and writing exercises.
Anand Swaroop Minocha is a neurosurgeon, what
he tested were claims made about graphology as a tool for
diagnosis and treatment of personality and pathological
disorders, as a bio-feedback technique and as a remedial
measure for psychological problems. In short, handwriting
therapy.
He began with his own handwriting and later
crosschecked with real patients to authenticate his findings.
The connection between a person's handwriting and the brain
seems simple but Minocha quickly points out: "The connection
holds even if the foot or the mouth is used for writing."
There is an empirical basis to graphology that was revealed
only through recent research, although references to it are
found as far back as the third century BC in Aristotle's
perceptions about the importance of handwriting.
personality, it can also be used as a means of improving your
life. Here are some handwriting exercises to help you grow and
develop positively:
*To reduce tension and improve spontaneity, do the following
pattern
to two pages a day with the left hand (reverse the order for
left-handers).
*To induce fighting spirit, decisiveness, the ability to
withstand pressure and build inner resistance, do the
following pattern on two pages with each hand everyday.
*To improve coordination between mind and body, try the
following exercise.
*To improve concentration and receptiveness, write in the
following manner-two pages with your right hand and one page
with the left hand.
*To change pessimism to optimism, write in lines as shown
below, up to five pages.
*To improve your sense of rhythm and reduce thinking on
habitual patterns, do this.
*If you feel your life is colorless, try writing with
different colored pens.
*To increase utilization of your potential, write holding
your pen in the left hand if you are right-handed and
vice-versa or even by holding it in your mouth or toes.
*To get new perspectives on your activities, start writing
with a paintbrush or in a different script than the one you
normally use.

The write spirit The urge to write, to put our thoughts on paper, is like an involuntary, almost compulsive, act that takes control of our emotions. But is writing a therapy? A case for the written word

In 1926, psychologist G. Wallas identified the four stages of creative thinking: preparation (finding a theme, reviewing your style), incubation (ideas develop, often in the unconscious mind), illumination: (ideas spring to life when least expected) and verification (a time for evaluation and revision). |

It is now the turn of Kiran Bedi, the policewoman who dared to be different, to take the witness stand. She is characteristically forthright: "For me, writing is therapy, I believe in it one hundred per cent. " |

Says Savita: "Writing should flow through you. You should become a vehicle through whom these words are expressed. And once the writing is done, one should forget about it. That is a process of going beyond the mind. Osho is a very good example. He uses words and throws them away. He does not edit anything, he uses the words for what they are'—mere tools—and once their job is done, he is over and done with them." |

If in automatic writing matters are, quite literally, not in your hands, what happens when you encounter a writer's block? Probably the worst fate that can befall a writer, professional or otherwise, is not being able to write. An extremely frustrating and stressful experience, as many will attest, this condition is by itself a sure proof-if further proof is required—of the restorative power of writing: |
