The Yorkshire Toffee Co.

In the News

August 1st 2008. The Yorkshire Toffee company launches and what better day than August the 1st to launch the company as it's Yorkshire Day?  Happy Birthday to The Yorkshire Toffee Company!

12th August 2008.  Freya Sykes and the company is mentioned in an article in The Times business section today by Lilly Peel.  The article is about the fact that more and more people are setting up and running companies based from home.  Freya is mentioned as she has set up another company from home as well as The Yorkshire Toffee Co.  She's becoming a bit of an expert in homeworking! The article is on page 43 of the paper version or here online.

October 12th 2008.  "AS SEEN ON TV!"  Freya and the company are featured on the popular BBC Sunday morning programme "Sunday Life" with Colin Jackson and Louise Minchin.  Broadcast live The Yorkshire Toffee Co was one of the companies featured...and the toffees that were taken to the studio for the item were swiftly gobbled up by the crew, with many a compliment forthcoming!

November 11th 2008.  Le Creuset in Castleford have stepped in to help The Yorkshire Toffee Co up their production by giving us 2 large stockpots to make the toffee in.  This is a massive help to us as an SME and we are really grateful to the kind ladies at Le Creuset who help to make this happen (Helen and Katherine)  You can see pictures of the hand over at the Castleford shop here.  Hopefully at some stage in the near future too we will be doing a toffee making demo at the store too, so keep your eyes peeled for further details!

17th February 2009.  We're changing...not much and certainly not our recipe for our scrummy toffee!  No... we are changing our packaging.  As you may know already we use small bags handmade from Laura Ashley material, but as we're growing we need a more time effective way to package our goods.  We are instead going to supply our toffees in a box with classical labeling and a ribbon around it.  We will also be keeping the ever popular Moo Cards on there too.  Our designers are currently working to produce the new brand image for the labels and of course when we have the finished product we will be uploading the new logo here and showing you the packaging so you can keep an eye out for it in your local deli, farmshop or traditional sweet shop.  We think you'll like it.

1st June 2009. We've once again had a little change...this time it's our name as we've become a limited company.  The new company name is Ella Riley Ltd and this is now the name of the new shop too.  Ella Riley's Toffee and Traditional Sweet Shop in Horbury Bridge.
