The following are price lists/rates of pay paid to men and boys for particular work done as agreed between the colliery owners, management and the workmens representatives. They are remarkably detailed in there description of the work to be done and it seemed every job however small had its price. They date from 1915-1945.
Some of the key extracts i noticed in them were as follows, Widows of workmen killed at the mine shall have due consideration with regard to house coal, the allowance of coal to householders shall be 1 ton per month at 3s 0d.
One person shall be paid by the workmen at the loader end of each conveyer for the purpose of marking tubs.
Should men leave the face without the permission of the management ,it will be deemed a deliberate breach of contract and will render the men liable to be sued for damages.
The following are extracts of a meeting held at the danum hotel in doncaster in 1915 to discuss the prices to be paid to the men for work done.
