This is my collection of mining checks, still growing. two of these checks were given to me by a police man who aquired them on picket duty during the strike.  He purchased checks from all of the pits he was on duty at, as a momento of his time there and always gave a donation to the striking miners fund for the checks.

This is a picture of my dads safety lamp, he lost the lamp while working in the new pit bottom, helping remove mine cars from the cage.  It felt off his belt down the shaft, 60 yards to the old pit bottom.  A few years later he was sent down to the old pit bottom with a group of men to remove slurry from the bottom of the shaft.  The lamp came out with the slurry.  After new glass was fitted and it was cleaned out in the lamp room, it was given back to  him to keep.
