WELCOME TO YFG DONEGAL
Young Fine Gael set up in Letterkenny in March 2004 and hosted Madeleine Taylor Quinn for the launch.
It was a great occassion and the Committee were excited at what the next year would hold for our branch. Being an Election Year that year we knew we would be busy.
The branch went from strength to strength and having being only in existence for a short year we have been one of the most active branches of YFG. We took part in the Home-Buyers Campaign, we canvassed with the Local & European Candidates, we attended the Ard Fheis but nothing was preparing us for Clubs & Socs Day in LYIT - our membership soared we now have over 100 members.
We headed to Conference in Ballina in November and a good time was had by all and in February we held our AGM. The new Committee decided on a plan for the coming months and we are currently undertaking a massive recruitment drive across the whole County. We are working on a County wide Newsletter for the organisation and in June we are holding a Weekends activities in Donegal Town.
This week however showed the true potential of YFG in Donegal. On Thursday 21st April we held the AGM in Milford and Roisin McBride has been elected Chairman of Milford EA's first ever YFG Branch. In Glenties on Sunday we elected a Committee headed up by Yvonne Slowey to mark again the first ever branch in Glenties Electoral Area.
Not only this but there have been great expressions of interest in other parts of the County. More branches on the way for Donegal?...Watch This Space...............
