Welcome to the Yarrow Valley Sub of the BN, this is my fourth year as a Model Railroader in the UK. I chose the BN as this was the first American Railroading Video i got, from that day on i decided i had to model the BN, not forgetting the Santa Fe, Southern Pacific and Rio Grande which i also have models of. I would like to mention a friends web site called "The Railroad Crossing" http://www.railroad-crossing.com/index.shtml it's full of great content, you can also buy a new range of DVD's or Video's featuring Steam Railfan trips and some great shots of Modern Diesels on the SP, Santa Fe, BNSF and Union Pacific to name a few, you can view a clip at http://www.railroad-crossing.com/sales/ , another great site is the "Illinois Railroad Museum" http://www.irm.org/index.html there is lot's to look at here including three web cams. I have HO scale equipment from Athearn, Walthers, Atlas, Kadee, Proto 2000 and just recentley Broadway Limited Imports which come sound equiped. I use standard DC control on my unfinished railroad. My Railroads in the Garage which is 18' X 9' approx, and will run around the outer walls on two levels with a longish grade linking the two levels that are 8" apart. it's based on the late 80's early 90's so i can run SD60's in the Oakway scheme.
I am a member of a group called C.A.L.M. which stands for Cavendish Assc of Like Minded Modellers, we are a small group with members from all over the UK, most of the members are very active on the UK show Circuit. Our members model UK, Eropean, Japanese and American railways in every scale from Z to G, we get together once a month at the Cavendish Arms public house in Brindle Lancashire to discuss coming events and to demonstrate new models. Our association group have yellow sweatshirts and T shirts with the club logo and the WGH logo on which makes us stand out in the crowd. this is the website of the group http://www.freewebs.com/calmm-modellers/index.htm
