James Bond Casino Royale (Limited Edition Softcover) 007

Frontpage1 The latest James Bond movie in the series is due out soon. Yes you are no longer going to find Pierce Brosnan or even have a Sean Connery cameo, but a brand new (blond - Daniel Craig) James Bond, double O-7, License to Kill!

No matter, going back to basics, here is the very first of Ian Fleming's James Bond novels, aptly titled Casino Royale. Here we are formally introduced to the British MI5 spy for the very first time, looking very very suave and of course having a whale of a time at the Casino.

Here we meet the full range of typical 007 villians, of course playing high stake poker not just on the card table, but on the international crime front. Fleming's writing is fresh, witty and entertainingly detailed. You will find well researched descriptions on French towns, Casino interiors as well as the many psychological stages of torture.

The book featured here is one of the early prints from 1964. Although not the first edition, it is still considered a rare find and it is the 1955 edition. Considering the current wave of James Bond mania from the upcoming movie (and many more, as the franchise is growing from strength to strength), this would be a worthwhile investment, especially for rare book collectors. Published by Pan Books Ltd, London and originally marketed in Australia. 188 pages.
