Paphiessa Hotel

For my holidays this year me and my family decided to go to cyprus. We did a last minute deal with Thomsons so we didn't know where we would be going and which hotel we would be staying at. We got told at paphos airport that we would be staying in the Paphiessa Hotel, paphos.  Time difference= 2 hours ahead of england.

We went in and thought it looked fine. It wasnt fancy or anything but suited us fine. Our rooms were an average size but the balcony was rather small. We had air conditioning which worked very well in mine and my sister's room but not so well in my parents room. Our room was cleaned nearly every day of the week by the maids but if you wanted privacy, a sign could be put out on the door to let them know.

Faciltiies in the hotel were: a small bar with tv and music, good sized outdoor pool with plenty of sunbeds, an indoor pool, gym, games room with pool table, lounge area by reception and a large dining area.

The staff were great! They are not english but speak it very well. They were very helpful and friendly and we all got on really well with them. They were very good with my younger brother who was 6 and always pleased him and us. They made sure that we had a great holiday! The 2 best waiters there were Mohammed and Moslee, i got on especially well with moslee so we swapped phone numbers and gave each other our addresses. We are still in touch now. We will be seeing each other again soon.

Ok enough of the staff now. The meals weren't anything special and the food always came up on the menu more than once while we were there for 2weeks. There were plenty of restaurants in town and around Bar street. We only went to one of them though which was 'The Windmill' restaurant. It was very quiet when we went there and only one other family was eating there, but the meals were great! I recommend this restaurant to anyone. There is also a small supermarket shop across the road from the hotel which was fine but did close for about 3 hours at 1:00pm.

The entertainment at the hotel wasnt very good. We had Bingo once a week, a strange woman called 'Lizzy' who sang the same songs over again for 3 days a week, dancing nights, cocktail nights, a man called Dave played the keyboard a couple of times and kareoke was once a week.

Overall though we had a fab holiday and would deffinately go back there again in the future. I recommend this hotel to anybody really but maybe not to people who are used to the luxury 5 star hotels as this is a 3 star.

Please feel free to talk to me about this, you can always email me or leave a message on my site just click on 'Contact me' on the side menu bar.

I hope that helped if you are planning to stay there for your holidays!

Paphos beaches

One of the most popular beaches in Paphos is Coral Bay, well its not far from paphos anyway- about a 15 minute drive from central Paphos. There is a regular bus going to and from Paphos which costs just 50cents to get anywhere in Paphos and on the outskirts.

Coral Bay is famous for having beautiful sand and many sporting activities. The pristine sandy cove will surely impress you and it is very popular with the locals and tourists.

Also an excellent tourist complex has been built in Coral Bay between the beach and the main road, with appartments, shops, supermarkets and retaurants.

A must visit whilst on your holiday in Paphos!
