I would suggest downloading at least one of these browsers to your PC so you will always have an alternative if your browser ever stops working. I have done many repairs where people only have one browser and can't get on-line. Having a second one helps in order to help trouble-shooting your PC.
Firefox Some quirks I don't like about Firefox.
1-annoying pop-up that sticks right in your face as you download something
2-Does not make automatic hyperlinks in Emails like IE does.
3-Too many extensions to keep adding to the browser
4-Quicktime is their prefered music player and I really detest it. Tries to control your PC and also is extremely hard to remove from start-up...it's like a nightmare.
5- It updates before opening at times and is slower than IE7
Opera An overall good fast browser
Crazy Browser Pretty fast barebones tabbed browser
Google Chrome A fast browser that has it's limitations like it cannot eliminate echotopic ads like IE7 can and also there is no menu.
My preference, I use IE 7 as my default browser and Firefox 2.0 as the alternate. I find that IE7 is a great improvement over IE6 and has better security and features. Firefox is not too bad except for the reason that you have to download an extension for almost everything....unlike IE7 where everything is already loaded. I find that pretty cumbersome. Don't let anyone hoodwink you into thinking that Firefox is more secure...it is just not true. Both browsers are constantly getting bombarded by all those nice people who try to mess up your PC and as long as you keep updated on Critical updates they are as safe as the other.
PS: It is good to have a back-up browser in case the one you use starts to falter, and it allows you to get on-line and set up your fixes.
