Gypsy is my first dog that I have trained myself with the help of my mum. She is a lovely dog to live with. She is a 9 year old Working Sheepdog and I have been training her since she was a puppy. Gypsy was not the easiest dog to train, I started off doing obedience with her and she was quite good to start with and learnt quickly.
She qualified for Crufts in the YKC Test of Obedience in 2002. As she got older she become bored with obedience and I started to train her in agility when she was 2 years old. She qualified for Crufts in the YKC Biathlon (obedience and agility) competition in 2002 and came 5th in the final.
Gypsy has now been competing in agility for 3 years and has won out of elementary and starters agility and had some good places at novice level. Gypsy also enjoys flyball and has qualified for the YKC Flyball team at Crufts 3 years running. I have also trained Gypsy in heelwork to music and she enjoys learning new tricks but we have yet to put together a routine.
Gypsy made me very proud by winning the last ever YKC Triathlon at Crufts 2006, what a star she is.
gypsy now enjoys a life of leisure lazying around the house, eating lots of food and going on long walks. she is retired from obedience and flyball and is now enjoying anysize agility which she wizzes around and loves the lower jumps.
