-   There will be at least 16 playable characters

-   Most of the 16 will be X-Men, while the other playable

    characters will be Magneto's Brotherhood (WAS specualted at

     an 8:8 ratio, but this is untrue).

-  Confirmed X-Men: Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, Bishop

-  Rumored X-Men:  Jean, Gambit, Colossus, Rogue, Iceman

-  Confirmed Brotherhood: Magneto, Toad, Juggernaut (Mystique and Sabretooth are highly speculated because they appeared in the official trailer)

-   Confirmed NPC's (Non-Playable Characters): Blink, Angel, Emma Frost, Heather Hudson, Professor Xavier, Beast, and Jubilee.

PLOT

Apcolypse, who has been lying in wait during the events of XML1, has attacked Magneto's Brotherhood and the X-Mansion, leaving terrible casualties on both sides.  The Brotherhood, once the X-Men's terrible enemies, become their allies to rescue their captured friends and destroy Apocalypse.

CUSTOMIZATION

- Playable characters will now have triple the amount of mutant powers (about 10-14)

- These 10-14 mutant powers must be unlocked throughout the game

- Only 4 of the 10-14 mutant powers can be selected for use at one time

- These 10-16 powers can all be upgraded (sans the X-treme)

- Players can choose how many characters they want to play as, unlike the first game where the computer chose for you.  You can have anywhere between 1-4 characters on the field at any time.

 

MISC.

- There will now be other HUBs besides the X-Mansion (5 to be exact)

- There are brand new items in the game, most of which you will only encounter ONCE during a whole way through the game.

- No more techno music!

- The game will also offer replayable missions!  This improves the gameplay hours 100%!

Character Menu

Here's the first look at one of the coolest features of XML2: ROA!

It's Bishop's character menu, where you can upgrade and view his stats, powers, and much more!  The menus obviously look alot better than they did in the last game, and it seems that playable characters now have resistances now, too!
