XL DISCOS wanted the opportunity to provide a personal service coupled with a high degree of professionalism to their customers at a competitive price. Many
Mobile Discos are either one-man operations, which means that if anything goes wrong there is no back-up; else they are large companies that are unable to offer you the personal service that you deserve. Indeed, many of these ‘Companies’ are, in fact, Agencies who sub-contract the work to individual DJs.

Although we have grown since our early days, our approach and aims have not changed. 
We are large enough to offer flexibility and small enough to ensure a personal service to each of our Clients. It is our aim to be considered as one of the very best in the field of
Mobile Discothèques and we make every effort to ensure your event is as successful as possible. Every booking we take is of huge importance to us and we treat every equally – paying attention to the little details that make the event the one you want it to be.

We feel confident that once you have used XL DISCOS for one event, you will use us again the next time you need a DJ; will recommend us to your friends and colleagues; and that guests at your event will want to book us for their own functions. Indeed, we are pleased to say that many clients do come back to us time and time again and that each year the number of repeat bookings and recommendations we receive is growing

 

Putting You First

We never forget that it is your event. Our DJs are there at your service, to represent you. They will act in a manner that you prescribe: if you do not want patter, they will play continuous music; if you want them to make announcements, tell them what and when and they will be happy to oblige. We ask you to give us a lot of information about yourself, your event, and your guests – the more information you provide us with, the better we will be able to tailor our show to your needs.

The equipment will be set up at a time convenient for
you. If it is not appropriate to set-up immediately before the start of the DJ's performance (for example, if you and your guests are eating a meal in the same room as the music is to be played and it would not be appropriate for equipment to be carried through whilst you
are eating) we can set-up at an 

earlier time.


We ask you to let us know if there are any particular genres or eras of music you would like/not like played, but in addition to this, If there are any particular songs you would like played, we can ensure the DJ has these songs with him/her. What’s more, if you request a song that we do not have, we will do our best to get it for you – again at no extra cost to you
.

We appreciate that the events for which
you employ us are often occasions of lifetime significance; or at least highly important to you, where you wish to be seen at your best in front of your guests. Every booking we receive is equally important to us 
from a children’s party to a charity ball – and we realise we must get it right first time…every time.

 

Preparation

As we have intimated in other sections, we pride ourselves on our preparation. We want to know everything there is to know about your event in advance, so that we can ensure we have arranged for the most suitable Disc Jockey to play at your event; are bringing the right equipment; and have the most appropriate selection of music.

As a result, we do ask you to answer a lot of questions about your event: please be patient and answer these as comprehensively as possible as well as providing us with any additional information which you feel may be useful – it is only because
we want to make sure that we work with you to achieve a successful result that we ask so much of you!

However, we also appreciate that life is unpredictable and just because we like to be prepared, it does not mean we cannot be adaptable. If you do need to make alterations to your arrangements, we will always do our utmost to accommodate your wishes.


Our Equipment

 

We  provide an appropriate mix of lighting (and other) effects to suit the occasion with ‘sound to light’ capabilities. We have equipment suitable for a small gathering, or a large event of up to around 1,000 people (larger events catered for upon request). We  mainly use CD decks,  All of the equipment used is professional DJing equipment, and a range of spare equipment is carried by each DJ in case of emergency.

In most cases, all the equipment (except speakers) is set up on a ‘Goal Post’ stand

with the projection lighting hanging from the high crossbar and a curtain across the front .

 to hide unsightly wires. This gives a very tidy appearance to the entire system.

We will require access to the venue for at least an hour prior to commencement of the performance to set-up the equipment (possibly slightly longer for larger events).

As we have already mentioned, our equipment is regularly serviced, maintained and PAT tested.

 
We do not supply mobile dance-floors or electricity generators, but if this is something you require, we know a reputable company that does, and can arrange this for you. We will not charge a fee for making these arrangements, and will only charge you what we ourselves are charged

Many mobile DJ companies will offer you disco 'packages' - Gold, Silver and Bronze Packages for Weddings, Birthday Packages etc. However, we prefer not to put your special event into a standard box: You are an individual and your event should reflect your individuality, not conform to any set package that may be on offer.

That is why we will ask you a lot of questions about your Event, whatever it may be, and ask you to supply us with any additional information you think may be relevant together with any special requirements you may have. We tailor our show to each event, based upon what
you want. We are happy to spend as long as you want discussing your requirements to ensure that you receive the entertainment you want and deserve.

  • We will do our utmost to comply with any reasonable request you may have
  • The most suitable equipment (including lighting) and the DJ are reserved for you:
  • We will set-up the equipment earlier in the day, if necessary:
  • Our DJs will comply with any dress code your Function may have in order to enter into the spirit of the Event:
  • We will work closely with you to ensure that our DJ plays the eras and genres of music you want played; plus you can advise us of any particular songs you want played - what's more, if we do not have the tracks you have requested in our music library already, we will do our utmost to get it for you:
  • If you need announcements made during the Event, our DJ will be happy to oblige; indeed, if you let us have an itinery before the Event, the DJ can make announcements at the appropriate time to keep your Event running to Schedule.

In the vast majority of cases we do not make additional charges for any such requests you may make  The quotation we give to you is fully inclusive, with no hidden extras.

We have experience of all types and sizes of functions and events, encompassing all the usual types of parties, together with some more unusual events and are confident we are capable of providing a first-class service at a competitive price in almost all cases - but in the unlikely event that we feel we do not have the necessary expertise to undertake your Event, we will tell you. We will not take a job we are not qualified to undertake, as this would not do our reputation any good whatsoever!

When planning a party, you'll want everything to run smoothly from start to finish.... XL Discos are specialists in offering you free and practical advice to help in any way that we can... all of our advice is free, and based on nearly 20 years of experience in providing Discos for all occasions.

We will provide the right Disco and entertainment to suit and enhance your individual event.

 

What will your disco include?

We will:

  • Set up a high quality sound system to suit the venue.
  • Set up a tailor made lightshow.
  • Use the special effects of your choice, e.g., smoke machines,  ultra-violet lighting
  • Gladly accept a playlist, and play the music you've requested.

 

We will arrive around 60 minutes prior to your desired start time, to allow us to set-up, and will break the equipment down and take it away at the end- usually in around 45 minutes.

All we need from you is the ground to set up on, and access to an electricity supply!!..... then simply leave the rest to us, relax and enjoy the party - knowing your celebration is in the capable hands of an experienced, professional DJ, who is there to help turn your celebration into a party to truly remember!

 When do we play?

We will play music whenever you would like us to, with start and finish times to suit you.

We also offer the option of 'playing on' past your pre-determined finish time if you so wish, at a VERY affordable hourly rate.... starting from just £40 per hour!

How much do we charge?

Prices are ALL INCLUSIVE - and include a sound system, lightshow, and a DJ who will set everything up, operate the equipment for the duration of the show and break everything down at the end.
