the clam

Wow! you made it! Welcome to the blog of the daily happenings of what is going on inside THE CLAM. It all started one day when I came into this big big place we call the world on November 21, 1988 as a little pea size clam from the rough oceans of San Francisco. However, I currently reside in my tank located in Santa Clara. Everyday I increase the size of my vocabulary at San Jose State University. Go Spartans! :] If you can't find me there, you'll most likely see me at your local Sanrio store. That's just a glimpse of who I am and what I do, but I'm sure you'll discover new things about me everyday. ^^

[ 08.21.06 | sympathy? - i think not. ]

So I get up around 9:30 today and rolled around in bed for 15 minutes then I start my daily routine of showering, brushing my teeth, etc. I eat breakfast which consisted of a cup of warm water and a noi won bow a.k.a. custard bun. I lounge around the house for a couple hours then I get a phone call from my mom requesting that I take good care of my grandma because she's not feeling well. I say okay, of course, and lounge around some more until lunch.

My plan for today was to babysit this korean family across the street from the house I babysit for frequently. I decide to call the mom of this family to let her know that I won't be able to make it today and sorry for any inconveniences that I may have caused because I have to watch after my grandma. However, before I even gathered up enough breath to tell this mother how sorry I am, she goes off on me. First off, she asks "Do you always cancel when you've scheduled to babysit someone?" Um, of course not, if I did I probably wouldn't have met you - which sounds quite appealing to me right now. I do realize that I let her know on a short notice, but it's not like I planned my grandma getting sick. Anyways, she continues on with her lecture about how she understands families emergencies and such but on the other hand the whole point of her lecture was to let me know that it's all about her and her schedule which is understandable up until a certain point. Well her entire lecture ended with, "this will be your first and last time that you cancel, understood?" Oh yah lady, I understand I won't ever cancel again because I'm never going to babysit for you until you pay me $100 an hour.

Tomorrow is SJSU's Welcome Convocation. 0_0

[ 12:59am :: 08.14.06 | fresh beginnings ]

As I spent countless hours joining fanlistings the other day, I came across a fanlisting for one of my favorite movies, 50 first dates and it got me thinking - what life would be like if everyday was a new beginning? Would you have to make new friends everyday? Acquire new and different knowledge everyday? Would life be more enjoyable than being able to remember every day happenings? Some might say, hell yes. Others..maybe not so much, but either way both perspectives are reasonable/logical. Meh, something to think about perhaps.

Anyways, moving on to the nonsense that happens in my life. I baked three cakes today with strawberry jam. :) They were super yummy. I have some hardcore reading of The Kite Runner that I need to do in addition to taking some notes and a lot of cleaning before my dearest Grandma arrives on Tuesday.

[ 2:48am :: 08.10.06 | so long&thanks for all the fish ]

College is starting in approximately 12 days. I'm having mixed feelings about college as do many people I know and well ... as for others they are just purely overwhelmed by all the freedom they will be sucking in as they say their final goodbyes to their parents and wave to them as they drive away or maybe as you drive away. As for me, I have to say so long and thanks for all the fish to all my dearest friends as we all go our separate ways. :'] oh how we've grown. lol..mm hmm right. we will meet again my lovers! <3
