Chi Alpha Epsilon was founded at West Chester University in Pennsylvania in 1989. It was established to recognize the academic achievements of students admitted to colleges in Developmental and Opportunity Programs. Chi Alpha Epsilon promotes continuous high academic standards, and recognizes and rewards academic excellence. To be eligible to join XAE, a student must have a cumulative average of a 3.0 for two consecutive semesters if the student is full time, or 3-4 consecutive semesters if the student is part time.
